Springfield Market Madness

Thanks to everybody who stopped by our table at Market Madness to learn about the Streetscape Master Plan and share ideas. We had many good conversations and sensed a great deal of enthusiasm for improving downtown. Here are some of the responses we got to the prompt:

“Things I would like to see or do downtown:

• Children’s museum or playplace

• Springfield history museum

• Quality shopping

• Coffee shop / café (x2)

• Restaurants / gathering places (x2)

• Promote the arts: The triangle of Chester, Bellows Falls and Springfield work together to promote the arts

• Art walk with a map

• Promote local beer, wine and mead

• Open river views and walkways extending over the river and access from Downtown

• Dog Park

• Weather-resistant exercise equipment

• I want to park and walk around to activities

• Greenspace

• Cupcake bakery

• Bookstore (new!)

• More retail, not all office space

• Fun activities for children

• Simpsons statute for photo opportunities
